Koppy: A rebrand that brings more fun!

Say bye to the old “Kumper Socks”, and be introduced to… Koppy Kopsocks!

This new build brings a whole title screen and 2 new brand levels!

But what about the name? What was wrong with it? The game was always called “Kumper”, ever since the late 2023 prototype. Despite it leaving a mark on the project, the name itself always had a very serious issue that I didn’t take too seriously: VANDALISM. It’s the same exact reason why Pac-Man didn’t stick to “Puck-Man”, people could vandalize the name and ruin the image of the game, which is not nice at all. I kinda accepted that fate, since I thought that the tone of the game could prevent the vandalism, but now I got told that the game could attract even worse kinds of people, so I decided to finally change the name.

I actually came up with Koppy way before “Kumper”, but I just didn’t give that name since there where some users using that same name… But then I realized that it doesn’t really matter after all. There’s literally 3 big companies called “Sonic” and they don’t seem to be affected by this.

However, I had to make a bunch of new accounts alongside with variants of the handle just for this project alone, and I have made the same with the previous name… Now I see why social media management is a whole job on its own.
